Project Details

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Strategic Sourcing will oversee procurement strategies and processes for supplier relationship management, capital programs, and operating expense contracting within the organisation.

Leading a team responsible for acquiring goods and services, this role ensures strategic objectives are met in all procurement activities. The Director will establish best practices, training programs, and compliance measures while minimizing risks and fostering strategic supplier relationships.

This is a hybrid position, with a requirement on site minimum 3 times a week, and up to 5 times as required.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Raise the profile of Strategic Sourcing and the procurement capability, knowledge, productivity, accountability, and decision-making in the Strategic Sourcing group.
  • Champion the transfer of Procurement knowledge through Sourcing and Contract Management training both internally within the team and with Business Units.
  • Develop and manage best-in-class procurement policy, processes, systems, toolbox, training and auditing
  • Create a culture to propel meaningful process changes and/or improvements to ensure scalable, repeatable, cost-effective and well-controlled processes to support the business in a compliant, fiscally responsible manner.
  • Continuously improve productivity and efficiency throughout the sourcing process and new technologies or enhancements
  • Own the development and ongoing reporting and dashboards of meaningful process metrics to measure performance (key performance indicators KPIs).
  • Establish relevant goals and thresholds to drive accountability, improve efficiencies, and performance.
  • Review spend analysis and prioritize activities related to strategic sourcing savings, cost avoidance and value add to ensure effective team performance

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 15 years of experience in strategic sourcing with 7 years of experience in indirect sourcing
  • Experience in team transformation, and managing spend over $500M.
  • Certified Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA); Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS); Certified Professional in Supply Management; or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
  • Proficient with MERX or similar bid software, ERP applications (Oracle or SAP), and MS-Office applications.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance.
  • Ability to implement innovative procurement models.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and planning skills
  • Experience working in a sophisticated, fast-paced project environments

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain or related discipline
  • MBA is preferred
