Interior Design Director

Passionate Design Director to lead the interiors practice of a global design house based in Ho Chi Min City, Vietnam.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide strategic direction to the design teams and corporate management
• Lead interior design assignments that include conceptual design, schematic design, design development & construction documentation
• Work closely with end-users and creative team to provide integrated design approach
• Take the lead in establishing and maintaining a good partnership and collaboration with consultants and contractors
• Manage external consultant firms to ensure the design complies with statutory requirements and Company standards, keep proper documentation records in the design database.
• Work with Sourcing and Procurement to prepare design documentation for tendering, play a pivotal role with the Project Manager on procurement strategy
• You will provide expertise in terms of management oversight, best business practices, market strategy.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Self-motivated, positive with “CAN DO” attitude
• 10 years minimum relevant interior design experience
• Strong experience in technical coordination and design drawing production
• Skills in conceptual thinking, experiential design and storytelling in space
• Strong client management / facing skills
• Strong manager of people and understanding of cultural respect and managing different workstyles.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and 3-d visualization tools
• Expert knowledge of FF&E, colour, materials, furniture systems and specifications
• Familiar with architectural requirements from local statutory bodies and familiar with up-to-date industry practices
• Fluent in written and spoken English

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

• Bachelors’ Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
