Summary of Managing Quantity Surveyor Job Vacancy - Tsim Sha Tsui

An experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor is needed to join a reputable main contractor to lead a team of Quantity Surveyors on a large scale Civil Engineering project. You will be site based and will act as the number 2 to the Commercial Manager helping lead the team through any commercial/contractual difficulties faced during the project through to final account stage. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large scale project and gain experience of managing a large team of Quantity Surveyors. This is a permanent position based in Hong Kong.

Project Details

A large scale Civil Engineering construction project that is technically complex with over 3 years left until completion

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for all Quantity Surveying matters
  • Take a lead role in commercial and contract matters
  • Provide commercial advice and support to other departments when needed
  • Oversea operational and management issues within the project team
  • Supervise and manage staff at project level
  • Prepare relevant reports and presentations for senior management

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in Hong Kong - either at Senior QS level or Managing QS level
  • Main Contracting experience is preferred
  • Experience working on a large scale project - either Civil or Build
  • Excellent communication skills in both Cantonese and English
  • Competent IT skills
  • Strong negotiation skills

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
  • Professional chartered membership such MRICS/MHKIS
