Responsibilities and Duties

  • Taking full financial & commercial control of projects Being a full team member to achieve successful project delivery
  • Assessing and Eliminating risk 
  • Managing the project surveying team 
  • Ensuring accurate reporting 
  • Achieving project targets whilst maintaining client and supply chain relationships 
  • Tackling difficult issues early by promoting early resolution to problems 
  • Aspiring to the very highest standards of quality, service and business performance 

Desired Skills and Experience

This role would be an exciting opportunity for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor (MQS), who has experience of managing large projects or has overseen several smaller projects at one time. This could also be an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who has experience in managing a variety of projects and a team of surveyors, looking to progress into a MQS role. 

 Essential Criteria 

  • Experience in a similar role 
  • Excellent commercial awareness 
  • Ability to negotiate and build relationships with clients, contractors and project team 
  • Experience of working for a main contractor on projects valuing between £3 - £20 million (even up to £40m) 
  • Ability to problem solve and resolve issues before they arise 
  • Ability to use computerised reporting systems to analyse data and report on project progress to Management team in a professional and logical way 
  • Team ethics 
  • Strong communication skills 

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Degree Qualified or equivalent within a related subject, i.e. Quantity Surveying, Construction Management 

Desirable Criteria

  • RICS Member 
  • CIOB Member
