Our client, an established and successful construction and engineering business operating in Hong Kong and throughout Asia, to appoint high calibre individuals to join and be pivotal players in the growth and on-going success of their buildings division. They are currently seeking to urgently appoint a high calibre Planning Manager to join their team.

Project Details

You will be stationed in Quarry Bay and travel to project sites regularly to manage and drive progress.

Responsibilities and Duties

You will be responsible for leading the planning engineers in managing and monitoring the site activities to ensure the progress of works is in accordance with the specification and programme, and carry out the following duties:

Review clients tender documents or internal enquiries to ensure the Contract Review procedures are followed and to establish sound basis for claims entitlement;
Provide cost effective solutions and understand client requirements to enable achievement of clients target in terms of time and deliver quality projects with economic construction methods;
Propose means and method of construction, temporary works requirement, identify critical areas of concerns and risk of projects;
Advise clients on buildability, development strategy related to procurement and construction, pre-qualification and tender programming / methodology / system formwork / logistics / plant manpower resourcing;
Develop claim strategy and adopt best suited approach in pursuing the claim.
Time management, delay analysis, claims support and change management throughout the entire process of pre-construction, design, procurement, construction delivery and aftercare.
Develop the base line programme and ensure overall progress of work from pre-construction stage through to completion is efficient
Your team will be in charge of all aspects of project planning and project controls.
Monitor and maintain detailed project schedule, work breakdown structure, project and activity coding and resource loading
Set up and maintain Critical Path networks, including updating, reporting and implementation of logic and resource changes
Assist to prepare timely and accurate reports and schedule plans for project management and effective project control
Monitor the scheduling of project milestones and ensure any potential delays or risks are met with appropriate solutions.
Liaise with client, consultants and contractors to review progress of project.

Desired Skills and Experience

At least 10 years relevant experience on site and in construction planning of Building projects;
Familiar with Hong Kong Building Department procedures requirements and with hands-on experience in Hong Kong Building projects;
Good analytical and problem-solving skills;
Proficient in Primavera software good computer skills;
Knowledge in BIM 3D or 4D modelling skills would be an advantage;
Good command in both English and Chinese.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

Degree in Building Engineering, Civil Engineering or equivalent;
Member of HKIE, ICE or other recognized professional bodies highly preferred.
