Responsibilities and Duties

Job duties and responsibilities

  • Lead the procurement process with the relevant construction manager and purchasing department
  • Manage all the procurement tools management packages
  • Act as the contracts manager for the project
  • The preparation of subcontractor documents
  • The valuation / payment processing with subcontractors and clients
  • Subcontractor management
  • Management or mentoring of 1 or more junior individuals

Key Tasks and Activities:

  • Administer the subcontract procurement process
  • Undertake the valuation and final account process
  • Provide and monitor cashflow projections
  • Provide information for monthly reports
  • Manage the resolution of disputes above an agreed level
  • Prepare subcontract valuation payments
  • Provide feedback on subcontract performance
  • Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders internally and externally

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Quantity surveying experience for a Main Contractor is essential
  • Capable of managing others alongside an individual workload
  • Having strong commercial awareness and a focus on results
  • Have appropriate technical, legal and commercial knowledge
  • Able to create and maintain strong relationships internally and externally

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying is desired but not essential
