Railway System Team Leader for Asia
For the future and upcoming opportunities in high speed, heavy, suburban, freight and metro of rail in East Asia region, our client is looking for a Senior Railway System Engineer at team leader level. The Railway System team is part of a multi-disciplinary Railway group in Hong Kong for rail business in East Asia.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop capability of Railway System team for new line development, railway systems integration& assurance, train operation, traction power and operation safety of metro and intercity rai
- Lead and guide the Railway System team to provide an integrated approach and a cost effectiveservice offering to customers
- Lead the Railway System team to develop strong technical skills and involve in various stages of the project, from planning, design, checking, verification, testing, commissioning and handover,including documentation and communication to the end client when required
- Strategic growth of the business line including expansion of services to existing clients and theidentification and development of new clients both nationally and internationally
- Achieve business development objectives through successful project execution and new business procurement strategies
- Manage potential system interfaces (Rolling Stock – Train Control System, PSD, AFC, Ventilation, Communications, Traction Power, Permanent Way), deal with client and approve authorities at senior level
- Assure effective utilization of engineering personnel and technical quality
- Maintain close relationship with rolling stock suppliers and external business partner; coordinate internally with MEP teams, System Engineering/Railway System teams in other regions
Desired Skills and Experience
- Over 15 years of relevant experience in system assurance and system integration with a strong technical or engineering bias to lead the Railway System team in Hong Kong for projects in East Asia region
- Sound networks amongst the relevant market and a good reputation in the required area of expertise
- A strong track record in leadership, management, business development and winning work with excellent relationship building skills
- Strategic thinker with proven experience of developing and implementing creative and successful solutions
- Good communication, negotiation, influencing and presentation skills
- A strongly collegiate team player who is proactive and driven to achieve results
- Experience at operating and delivering at a strategic level and contributing at senior management level across a diverse range of commercial and business issues
- Experience of working in Hong Kong or China will be an advantage, although not essential
- Ability to adapt to culturally diverse working environment
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Degree qualified in relevant discipline and achieved relevant professional qualification
