A well-respected claims and disputes consultancy based in Warrington is looking to appoint a Senior Consultant – Commercial & Quantum. The successful candidate is likely to come from a main contractor Quantity Surveying background with some exposure to claims, or from a claims/disputes consultancy environment providing dispute resolution services.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional to take the next step in their career. Project Details

This type of role typically offers exposure to a wide range of assignments across multiple construction sectors. You can expect to work with a variety of well-known organisations, including tier one main contractors, specialist subcontractors and client bodies, supporting matters from live project issues through to formal dispute proceedings.

Responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Reviewing construction contracts and advising on contractual entitlements and risk
  • Providing practical, commercially focused advice to help avoid and resolve disputes
  • Supporting the preparation of claims and dispute submissions, including narrative and evidential inputs
  • Assisting the appointed expert with analysis and expert report drafting
  • Advising on cost matters, including valuation, variations and change control
  • Delivering coaching and training to clients on commercial, contractual and (where relevant) time-related issues
  • Producing clear written reports and supporting client representation in tribunals
  • Collaborating with solicitors and legal teams to provide expert support on construction disputes

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Prior experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor or specialist subcontractor
  • Experience within a claims/disputes consultancy is advantageous but not essential
  • Proven capability providing professional commercial and contractual advice in construction
  • Strong grounding in core QS duties, including variations, change management and cost control
  • Exposure to formal dispute processes (adjudication, arbitration or litigation) is beneficial
  • Confident, professional and client-facing, with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Solid knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g NEC and JCT)
  • Competent with Microsoft Office packages

Qualifications/Educational Requirements
