Senior Project Engineer - Geotechnical

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a leading Hong Kong based client working on a mega scale project. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Senior Manager, Geotechnical in monitoring, managing and mentoring the specialist reclamation contractors and consultants to achieve, a safe, efficient and timely completion of the reclamation works across the project.

You will based in client's HQ on Lantau Island.

Responsibilities and Duties

•Ensuring effective and efficient project management of maritime and civil engineering works, including overall project planning and monitoring of safety, quality, construction as well as financial aspects of the relevant works;
•Assisting in leading design consultants and construction contractors to ensure that programme and budget requirement are met;
•Ensuring that project requirements are incorporated effectively into detailed design, cost, works contract drawings and specifications;
•Proactively identifying design and construction interface problems, investigating alternatives with designers and contractors and liaising with project stakeholders to produce cost-effective solutions

Desired Skills and Experience

•At least 10 years’ relevant experience, of which minimum of 6 years should be in project management role
•Proven experience in management of maritime works planning, construction and site supervisory works
•Experience in geotechnical and maritime design and construction is an advantage
•Strong communication, analytical and negotiation skills
•Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese.  Knowledge of Putonghua is an advantage.
•Proficiency in Plaxis, Wallap, Slope/W, Seep/W, Oasys or similar software

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Civil/ Geotechnical Engineering or other related disciplines
•Registered Professional Engineer (RPE) in Civil or Geotechnical Disciplines required. Professional Qualification gained from other recognized professional institution (e.g. ICE) may also be considered
