A Senior Quantity Surveyor job is available with a busy Chartered Surveying Practice in South Leicestershire.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an excellent QS/PM Consultancy company. The role will focus on managing a range of projects, ranging in size and with values from £1m up to £35m.
This is an office based Senior Quantity Surveying role located just South East of Leicester. The employing company is seeking a suitably experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, ideally with some Consultancy experience, that can manage a variety of projects include pre and post contract work and from inception to completion.
Typical projects will be predominantly within the built environment, including:
- Industrial & manufacturing
- Social Housing
Projects can be across the UK, however the company's main portfolio is within the Leicester, Leicestershire and Midlands region.
The majority of work will be new build and refurbishment projects.
Responsibilities and Duties
The successful candidate will work closely with Senior Management. Although the business is expanding as their project portfolio develops at an impressive rate, the company has a strong work ethos and the successful candidate will have direct, daily links to the Directors of the business in a collaborative working environment. You will run your own projects and guide and mentor Assistant and Graduate Quantity Surveyors on projects as necessary. You will have responsibility for a combination of pre and post duties within this role, which may include:
- Cost Estimates
- Schedules of Work
- Builders' Quantities
- Bills of Quantities
- Providing Employers Agent services as well as the traditional QS services
- Feasibility studies
- Tender and contract documentation
- Cost Reporting
- Final Accounts
Desired Skills and Experience
- Candidates should have a good combination of pre and post contract experience - although applications with a strength in either area will definitely be considered
- Candidates should show demonstrable experience of running multiple projects; ideally in excess of or close to £1m
- Experience of traditional and/or design and build contracts is required
- Candidates should have experience in new build and /or refurbishment projects
- Candidates should be capable and willing to run a number of projects whilst supervising colleagues
- Applicants from either Private Practice or Main Contractor backgrounds are welcome
- Candidates should be fully conversant and adaptable in providing Employer’s Agent services as well as/or traditional QS duties
- A Construction related degree is desirable, however suitable demonstrable experience and the ability to adapt to the role are the key requirements of this job.
