Senior Technical Manager - Solar
Our client, an investment bank based in Seoul, is seeking to appoint a high-calibre Korean-speaking Senior Technical Manager to oversee a number of solar / Energy Storage System (ESS) investment projects and provide leadership, oversight and delivery of outcomes to ensure the client's financial, commercial and reputational risks are covered.
Project Details
You will be based in the clients Seoul HQ and travel to project sites.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Ensure implementation of and compliance with technical requirements as set out in the EPC and O&M contracts.
• Lead technical reviews of key elements of the projects or in the event there are issues which need to be managed and resolved with the EPC or O&M Contractors.
• Provide technical advice and support to the development team to enable timely decision making.
• Form part of Owner’s technical team during commissioning and testing to ensure relevant testing and quality plan procedures are being implemented, followed and reported on accurately.
• Support the development team in liaising with counter parties including contractors, Government and community interest groups.
• Provide oversight and recommendations on contract administration matters.
• Attend meeting schedules with EPC and O&M Contractors, service providers and internal
teams to oversee and control delivery and operations requirements to ensure timely decision
making and problem solving.
• Provide input for weekly and monthly reporting.
• Appoint and work closely with external technical advisors where appropriate.
• Prepare materials and participate in business development meetings with clients.
• Trouble-shooting and problem-solving delivery and operations related issues as they arise.
• Maintain working knowledge of current (and proposed) solar and ESS related standards and
statutes.
• Any other tasks that would be required to fulfil the position.
Desired Skills and Experience
• Based in Seoul, South Korea.
• Fluent Korean and English (written and spoken)
• A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience with an energy developer, utility or related field
performing a Technical Manager or Project Engineer role for solar and energy storage system
facilities.
• Project management skills.
• Have excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise at all levels.
• Enjoy and be effective at developing and nurturing client relationships at the appropriate level.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
